For many years prior to meeting
Dr Sun I had been suffering deteriorating muscular strength on
the right hand side of my body.
NHS Doctors initially diagnosed
Arthritis and prescribed three pain
killers, one muscle relaxant and a
course of physiotherapy. Following
a full body scan in 2004, the cause
of my discomfort was further
diagnosed as spinal compression at
the 6th and 7th vertebrae. In
January 2005 a Neurosurgical
operation was performed to release
the compression. By mid 2006 no
improvement was apparent and my
condition was as follows:
1. My right foot muscles would not
allow me to lift either my foot, knee
or leg and because of a distinct lack
of balance I needed to use a
walking stick both inside and
outside my home.
2. I experienced severe pain in my
lower left back with a less severe
pain in my right hip and shoulder
blade.
3. Early in 2006 I became unable to
stand without pain in my left leg
except for very short periods.
4. Late April 2006 the muscle
weakness extended to my right arm
and caused me difficulty in writing,
shaving, washing and eating my
food.
At this point I very fortunately read
Dr Sun’s local press advertisement
and felt TCM might offer help
where the NHS had seemingly
failed. I had a consultation with Dr
Sun in June 2006 and while she
made no outlandish promises, she
did suggest TCM could help.
Immediately she commenced a
course of acupuncture together
with the use of Chinese herbal teas.
Initially I required help to mount
and dismount the treatment table.
By July I was able to stand for
lengthy periods without pain. By
August the muscles of my right arm
were stronger and I was able to do
all the things I previously could not.
I also needed no help in getting on
and off the treatment table. My
general pain level was reduced
such that I am now taking only one
pain killer instead of three and no
longer need the muscle relaxant.
The condition of my right leg and
lack of balance is now Dr Sun’s
entire focus of attention where she
also expects improvement similar to
that achieved elsewhere.
I find there are almost insufficient
words to praise Dr Sun and her
achievements which in my case
have so far been truly amazing and
though this is the first time I have
submitted myself to TCM can only
earnestly recommend a similar
course of action to anyone suffering
illness which the NHS has been
unable to help.
